(WARNING: This post will talk about urine and feces. Dog people will get it. If you cringe at the thought of a big dookie in the living room, you will probably want to leave now.)
Celebrating milestones is important. Yesterday, we had a significant milestone. If you recall from last week, we had a bit of backsliding on her “housebroken” status. Both a pee and a poo in the the living room, and barely concealed disappointment. She had been doing so good.
Last night was Barbara’s birthday, and we went out to eat, leaving Lizzie to roam the house. We were gone for about 2 hours total, and when we came back, I was expecting problems of the pee sort.
Cautiously opening the front door, I see Lizzie stepping off the chair in the living room, and her walking to meet me. Quick review, she got a little wild, and chewed on the ethernet cable I had connected to the router. Oops, that was a casualty.
Then I looked out in the back yard, and what did I spy? Is that a nice poop at the end of the yard? Why, yes, yes it is. A large, perfectly formed stool. Presumably a pee too, as there isn’t any in house that we could find.
SHE WENT OUT THE DOGGOIE DOOR, DURING THE DAY, AND DID HER BUSINESS, WHILE WE WERE NOT HOME. Huge huge milestone.
OF course, she destroyed the last Garrett ortho bed that was in her “den”. Sigh, but in all, it was a great day for the Lizzie girl.
